Elder Healing
A divine spark of life drawn from the heart of a dying forest to sustain hope.
Elder Healing refers to the restorative energy that sustains Ori during their journey in Nibel. This power represents the connection between the spirit of the forest and the ancient Elder Tree. It is the mechanism by which Ori recovers health, drawing upon scattered souls and light fragments.

Lore & Background
As the corruption spreads, the ease of finding this restorative energy diminishes. In the deepest shadows, where the Elder Tree's influence is weakest, healing becomes rare and precious. This scarcity underscores the stakes of Ori's quest: without the Elder's blessing flowing through them, the spirit would succumb to the void just as quickly as the forest itself.
In Their Own Story
The darkness pressed against his small form, cold and suffocating. Ori stumbled over a root, the silence of the withered grove heavy in the air. A faint pulse caught their eye—a single white soul trembling near a hollow log. With a desperate reach, Ori grasped it. Warmth flooded their chest instantly, the grey pallor of exhaustion receding as golden light flared briefly around them. For a moment, they were not alone; the Elder Tree's breath was in their lungs once more.
Reader's Guide
Elder Healing functions through two primary interactions within the Blind Forest environment. First, Ori automatically regains health by collecting white orbs known as Souls scattered throughout levels. These represent captured life energy that flows back into the spirit upon contact. Secondly, permanent upgrades to this system can be found in the form of Orbs of Light hidden in difficult-to-reach areas or behind puzzles. Collecting these increases Ori's maximum health capacity, allowing them to withstand more damage before falling. This power is wielded exclusively by Ori, who acts as the conduit for the Elder Tree's grace. There are no cooldowns or mana costs involved; the limitation lies solely in the availability of souls within the environment and the player's ability to navigate hazards without taking excessive damage.
