Lore & Background
Gumo's most pivotal moment occurs when they retrieve the Water Vein from the flooded ruins of the Gumon's former home. Rather than a sacrifice, Gumo uses their knowledge of ancient Gumon technology to activate the Gumon Seal, opening the path forward for Ori. After the credits, Gumo is seen alive and well, actively participating in the restoration of the forest alongside Ori and other characters. There is no transformation into a light source or guiding star; Gumo's role is that of a resourceful survivor and helper, not a martyr.
